Sizing Note

Sizing boot gaiters can be a bit tricky.

Generally, if you wear full boots (Kenetreks, Danners, Lowas) and/or have large calves (size 10 and bigger) you will likely want to go with the LG. 

If you have smaller feet or calves (size 9 and smaller) or wear a lighter boot or trail shoe (Salomon, La Sportiva) you will want to go with the SM.

      Used these boot gaiters on recent winter cow elk hunt. Long underwear, jeans, thick socks, I wear the Model 882, elk tracker boots from Irish Setter. They are 12" high. My calves measure 18" around. I have a hard time closing the Velcro on these gaiters. Often I only get them half closed, meaning only 1/2" of the 1" wide Velcro is attached. My pants , boots and feet were dry after spending all day in knee deep snow. Just worried they will start to fail at the Velcro after a couple of more uses. I will recommend to friends with skinny legs only…

      Christmas gift, had a tag for the unit I live in, snowed for 3 days prior to Christmas, went into the mountains Dec 27th w/ these and I was dry as a bone in knee deep snow. Tag filled. Great stuff.

      What I like: These gaiters are beefy without feeling overly stiff and breathe really well. I was hiking in deep snow drifts (rabbit hunting with my dog) a couple of weeks ago and they worked flawlessly at keep the snow out of my boots when I got into knee-high powder. The materials are great and I think you'd have to work really hard to destroy this piece. What I don't like: I typically wear a size L in boot gaiters because they fit my Danner Sierra and Lowa Camino Evo boots well (size 10). However, the size L/XL was too large for my boots as well as my calves (small to medium sized). I had to send back the L/XL and order a pair of the S/M. This latter pair works but I feel like First Lite should offer a more granular size offering (M, L, XL, XXL) similar to Kuiu, Kennetrek, OR, etc... Would I recommend these to a friend? Only with the caveat provided above.

      Verified Reply - KyleYou're right in the middle of sizes. I'd probably go with the smaller size and be prepared to exchange it if it doesn't fit. If they're too big on you, you can't tighten them down enough and they don't function properly.       Will this fit around a 21" calf

      How do I replace the bottom strap ? Is there a repair kit ? Both have worn through and split in half where it goes under the boot. I don't walk on pavement or concrete. I hunt the Appalachians which is rocky. Let me know. I wear these all the time. There's plenty of life left in them if there's some type of repair kit.
