I'm normally an XL, but it was way too big. I downsized to a L and it's snug. Fits better but in certain areas it's too tight. It needs a cinch cord around your waist and pit zips.

Overall, I'm loving this. It is cozier than other brushed merino hoodies that I have from other companies, which are around the 350-360gsm weight. I was a little worried about the loft to the brushed merino when I got it, but after washing, the interior was nice and fuzzy. I did launder it regularly (cold, tumble dry on low) as my other hoodies indicate and this did fine. It was only after laundering it that I noticed the tag saying to hand wash and line/air dry. There were no apparent ill effects for having washed and dried it. The fit is great in the body. I'm on the cusp between a large and XL and took a chance on a large, which works well. Sleeves and wrist cuffs could be a closer fit, but i'm guessing First Lite is assuming you'll be layering with this. My only big issue is with the hood. The opening around the face, when fully zipped up, is a bit loose compared to my other hoodies with a scuba/sport hood. If I look down, the fabric opens up on the sides and will likely be prone to letting cold air in. I have a large to XL head, so I imagine those with smaller heads might see even more of a gap around the face than I do. With a snugger hood, this would be a truly phenomenal product!

I realize this mid layer was designed for waterfowl hunting, but it is great for all cold weather hunting. I whitetail hunt in Wisconsin where the weather can change pretty drastically during archery and gun season. This hoodie is great addition to my whitetail kit. It works great as an outer layer in during October archery season, or a mid layer during gun hunting and late season archery. I'm 6'2"" and 225 lbs. and wear an XL in most FL gear. The XL fits a little big on me, but leaves plenty of room for layering underneath and adds a layer of warmth to my other FL outer wear. It also works great as a warm outer layer when running dogs during late season pheasant hunts, Another great piece from FL!

Ordered xl was way too big. Sent back and received a large. That was too small. For the price it should be comfortable. So I tried to return for a refund and they said it's not eligible for refund. Will definitely be the last item I buy from firstlite.
