Silent, odor-resistant, and comfortable from 100 degrees to late in the season, the Obsidian merino pant takes the torch from the best-selling Kanab 2.0 pant, with the fit being based on our hugely popular Corrugate Guide Pant. The Obsidian's ergonomic design and proprietary, stretch merino/nylon fabric work in conjunction to move and flex with the body and provide maximum durability, all while preserving the qualities you love about Merino. Reinforced with rip-stop nylon, these woven merino pant has no UV signature or shine and fends off odor-causing bacteria better than any synthetic. Stretch nylon panels also enhance range-of-motion and provide durability and support in high-stress areas. The Obsidian pant is equipped with detachable suspenders for a superior fit with pack or harness, and can be used with other First Lite pants. This piece is machine washable and will dry quickly over a branch or on a line. These features make the Obsidian a superior choice for a wide range of stationery and active hunting applications.

Initial review - product not tested in the field.
Looks - was not aware / did not see the plaid lines in the material when purchasing online. Do not care for their appearance (black with silver grid pattern).
Functionality - limited stretch is my only concern at this time, especially when traversing hills and long distances, crossing fences, etc...
Fitment is correct and sizing sheet was accurate.
Temperature rating - Personally I think it is a little misleading. Description states that it is meant for warm weather hunts. When tested at the house and walked around outside (80 degree temps) I got warm pretty fast. There was no wind so maybe my thoughts will change over time but not the right set up for my planned SD Sharp Tail hunt.
Once work in the field my stance could be affected in a positive way. Not all doom and gloom. Pants appear to be well made and I believe will be durable in the right application.

This pant is very comfortable and versatile. I am 6' 180 lbs and wear the medium tall. I have worn this pant whitetail hunting and on western elk hunts and has proven to be very comfortable. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is due to is being a bit easy to tear since it has a high merino wool thread count and can tear easily if you are in terrain that is very brushy. These pants are very comfortable, lightweight, breathe well, and dry very fast when wet. They have multiple pockets to keep all of your EDC at your fingertips. I now own two pairs of these pants and have been very pleased with them.

Mediocre at best. Chinese merino; hope they hold up

So far so good. The fabric and fit are both great. Haven’t worn them in the field yet, so I can’t comment on the aforementioned durability issues, but I’ll come back and tell all about it if they fall apart on my first hunt.
