Refuge Parka

Waterproof Outerwear

Sale price$500.00

COLOR:First Lite Darkwater
SIZE:S

Waterfowlers make up a small percentage of hunters who get truly stoked when they see sleet, snow, and driving winds in the forecast. Cold weather kick-starts migrations from the north, and heavy precipitation + wind forces the birds to fly low, on the lookout for cover and safe-haven with other flocks, increasing the opportunity for sweet-talking waterfowlers to coax them into their decoy spreads.

The Refuge Parka was built for performance in the extreme conditions of the late season with its robust insulation package, durable waterproof materials, and an extensive feature set optimized for every moment of the hunt.

We’ve fit the Parka with plenty of room to layer over the Refuge Bibs or waders + Base-Layer and Transitional Outerwear (like Catalyst or Uncompahgre) to keep hunters comfortable from 30 degrees to well below zero. The Refuge outerwear system is carefully designed to help hunters from every flyway go farther and stay longer through the best, worst days in the field.

Warmest Jacket Ever

First, I will start by saying this is the warmest Jacket on the market. I've had mine since 2022, and it has worn well, except for the zipper, which recently split. After a brief phone call with the warranty department, they expedited a new jacket so I didn't miss out on the rest of the season. 5 stars for excellent service! One area of concern is the waterproofing. After 6 hours of heavy rain/snow mix, my jacket started to bleed through. I really like the magnetic pocket closures, but a visible tab would be a welcome addition, especially when trying to open it with large, heavy gloves.

Great Jacket

I'm 5'11 230 and I got a XL. just a bit long on me, but fits just fine. Seems well made and will hold up in the field. Would give five stars, but not sure about the large front right breast pocket. When in boat at speed pocket opens and catches cold air. ( Magnets not strong enough )

not worth it

I hunt about 40 days a year in upstate NY and this jacket will keep you pretty warm down into the teens. for the most part it will keep the water off you the ""rain channel"" hood is for the most part useless and you will most definitely be re-snapping the buttons on the hood every time you put it on and take it off. The high pockets are nice and accessible but if you hands are wet good luck actually getting them in the pockets. i do like the black underarms if you are dog handler but at the 500 dollar price point there are unfortunately better options on the market. I Love firstlite but i would return this piece if i could.

Outstanding Piece of Gear

True to its name, it is a refuge against the cold, wind, and worst weather in duck hunting. I think it is the warmest coat I own, and the features are so smart, well designed, and intuitive that it is a joy to use in the field. The hand warmer pockets are great, the self-sealing magnet dump shell pockets are brilliant, the hood is greatest of its kind, and it is just so warm. I wear a large in everything, and a large fits great with this, with plenty of room for layering.

Parka

Been waiting a while to order the parka and finally pulled the trigger. Was able to wear it on a 10 degree morning with a hoodie underneath and was sweating. Love how warm it is.
